Experienced leadership team with over 100 combined years of demonstrated history of working in the power utility construction industry. Have provided management and oversight on projects varying in both type and sizes in all facets of transmission, distribution and substation. Major customers worked with have included Southern California Edison, San Diego Gas & Electric, Pacific Gas & Electric, Bonneville Power Authority, Hawaiian Electric and Portland General Electric. Areas of expertise include business development, cost estimating, contract negotiation, construction management, project management, project controls, scheduling and resource planning. The team possess the in-depth knowledge and understanding of power operations in relation to market needs; proven ability to successfully manage and oversee a team; results-oriented; ability to manage projects on time and within budget.

Nelson Ferreira
President / CEO

Nelson Ferreira is a naturally gifted entrepreneur, visionary, and leader. His greatest strength lies in his forward-thinking mindset and exceptional instinct for building the right team to bring his vision to life.

In 1988, Nelson launched his first business, Ferreira Trucking Inc., which evolved into Ferreira Construction, now a premier national contractor with offices in NJ, NY, RI, FL, CA, VA, GA, and TX. Under his leadership, the company has grown to employ over 2,000 people and generate more than $700 million in annual revenue.

Nelson is at the core of the Ferreira brand and remains directly responsible for its unwavering commitment to safety, business development, market strategy, and long-term growth. He works closely with Ferreira Power West (FPW) leadership on day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and core values.

His vision for diversification and expansion led to the creation of the Ferreira Family of Companies, which includes Vanguard Energy Partners, American Pile and Foundation, Ferreira Power Group, SM Electric, Ferreira Power West, Patriot Line Clearing, Ferreira UTEC, and Ferreira Power South.

Known for his relentless work ethic, sharp business sense, and high standards, Nelson not only builds strong companies, but he also invests in people. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he is deeply passionate about giving back and supporting his community.

Charles “Tray” Roper
Senior Vice President

Charles Roper has over 34 years of experience in the power line industry. He has worked with Overhead and Underground Distribution, High-Voltage Transmission, Substations, and Foundations.

Charles is in good standing as a journeyman lineman with the IBEW and has served as an apprentice lineman, lineman, foreman, general foreman, superintendent, area manager, and operations manager.

As an experienced Senior Vice President, Charles’s key skills include coordinating the development of proposals, pre-construction activities, quality control inspection, project closeout, project controls and financial evaluation, document controls, subcontractor coordination, and progress reporting to customers and stakeholders.

Brian Will

Vice President of Project & Program Management

Brian has more than 18 years of experience related to major multi-year programs as well as large Substation, Transmission, and Distribution projects. His responsibilities include overall project safety, financial success, quality control, and schedule adherence, as well as coordinating and reporting project status on a routine basis.

Brian’s project management skills include PM methodology compliance, project scheduling, pre-construction activity planning, quality control inspection and documentation, project monitoring and controls, financial evaluation and forecasting, document controls, subcontractor coordination, and progress reporting to customers and stakeholders.

Brian’s sound team and project management experience demonstrate his value as a dependable and highly proficient program manager on any project in which he is associated.

Jon Bateman
Senior Director of Operations

Jon has over 24 years of experience in the power line industry. He has worked in all aspects of the trade, including Overhead and Underground Distribution, High Voltage Transmission, and Substations.

Jon has a vast knowledge of the work and has held various positions throughout his career. He is well-versed in estimating, planning, execution, and closeout of projects. He has built teams to complete projects within budget and on time. He has built solid relationships with customers and developed more business for the companies he has worked for. Jon completed his journeyman lineman apprenticeship through the MSLCAT JATC. He has been a good-standing member of the IBEW for over 24 years as well.

Jake Christensen
Director, Major Projects

Jake has been in the power line industry for nearly 20 years. He has worked in all facets of trade, including Overhead and Underground Distribution, High-Voltage Transmission, Substations, and BESS projects.

Jake has remained in good standing with IBEW in the US and Canada throughout his career and, in an effort to give back to the power line industry, has worked as an instructor for the Cal-Nev JATC.

His vast knowledge of the craft has allowed him to be competent in various positions throughout his career. He is well-versed in all aspects of project lifecycles, including estimating, engineering, procurement, construction, and closeout. Jake has built teams to complete tasks on time and within budget while building relationships with clients and staff. Jake’s diligence in safety and quality has continued to increase business for his employers.

Tiffani Miranda
Director, Project Controls & Finance

Tiffani is a versatile professional with over 20 years of experience in the areas of business management, project controls, contract management, finance, administration, and data solutions within the power line industry. She has worked on major programs and major transmission projects throughout the western United States.

Her responsibilities include managing and overseeing the controls, procurement, accounts payable, and accounts receivable of day-to-day operations. Tiffani’s experience in performing financial analysis, maintaining financial compliance, and driving project execution to meet company financial goals displays her ability to support the FPW team in its growth and upcoming ventures.
